Two works representing Maenads derived from Roman frescoes possibly from the House of Cicero, Pompeii, gouache over etched outlines on paper, 18 x 12-1/2 in. (sight); very fine, original matching carved and gilt wood frame,. Condition: not removed from original frames, good condition; frames with losses, some pieces accompany lot. Notes: These fine gouaches are thought to be inspired by Roman frescoes and based on works now lost by Raphael.
