Note: The sitter received his first commission as an ensign in 1694, and was promoted to Major General in 1739. He was Colonel of the 7th Fusiliers, which was to become the City of London Regiment.

lined, restretched on newer stretcher, crackle, stretcher marks, retouch; frame with wear and small losses
