(Italian, 1609-1670)

Young Girl in Elegant Clothing, Jewelry, and Holding a Dog, circa 1640, unsigned, oil on canvas, 25-5/8 x 19-3/8 in.; French Louis XIII carved and gilt wood frame, inscribed "Jeanne Cerle", 31-3/8 x 25 in. [Old Masters]

Note: An email dated 2003 between Edmondo di Robilant and Alessandro Morandotti suggests Lombard School with a mention that "Dr. Eckaart..does not believe that the picture can be by an artist of the Northern Schools". A Peter Tillou label verso suggests an attribution to Carlo Ceresa (Italian, 1609-1679).
