Boston, circa 1720, arched crest rail, sloped back, black leather upholstery with brass tack decoration, turned and blocked legs, bulbous turned stretcher, four chairs labeled with accession number 1985.0402, two chairs labeled with accession numbers 9999.0438, 43-1/2 x 18-1/2 x 14-3/4 in.

chairs are well preserved overall, chairs retain an old but later painted surface with variation, scattered paint losses, two chairs have been ended out, one chair with repaired crest rail, some small losses, other general wear expected with age and use
