blue and white decorated porcelain bowl with ten circular panels along the interior wall, each depicting a zodiac animal, the center field depicting the two other zodiac animals, geometric decoration in shallow relief, underglaze blue seal mark to base, 2-3/4 x 7-1/2 in.; famille rose Leys jar or bowl, turquoise ground, with flowers, scrolling vines, and ruyi, gilt rim, iron red Daoguang reign mark to base, 4 x 7 in. diameter - Provenance: Collected in Shanghai, China prior to 1902 by Frederick and Margaret Haskell; By descent in family to Frances Arnold; Private Collection, Newnan, Georgia - Note: Objects from this personal collection were acquired in Shanghai, China between the years 1862-1902. They were collected by Frederick and Margaret Haskell. Mr. Haskell was the owner of the Japan and China Trading Company. The couple retired to Lake Weir Florida in 1902, bringing these collected objects with them to the United States and they descended through the family to current day.
