Note:

"Over the course of recorded history, man has felt compelled to record his reactions and insight in visual form. The artist is always searching for something new, individual forms of expression. Thus, art changes, rapidly or slowly. The task is to make a personal statement that also has value as communication. The artist always hopes that the presentation has validity to the reviewer."

Weiss, born in Yugoslavia, studied under Hans Hofmann in the 1950s. After a year, he moved to Tennessee and studied art at the University of Tennessee and at Watkins Institute (Watkins College). He would eventually become director of the art department, serving from 1975 through 1980. His work is held in many important collections including the Tennessee State Museum, Nashville, Tennessee.

This work of art was a gift from the artist directly to the consignor in 1999 and comes with a notarized affidavit of authenticity.
