of a Buddha probably Northern Wei Dynasty (386-534), smiling figure carved from a solid piece of sandstone, 18 x 10 x 9 in., old chips and losses especially to headdress and ears, apparently cut and reattached approximately at joint of forehead to hair (deeply notched at back), neck now set with post for mounting.
