Chinese, age unknown, possibly Ming Dynasty, standing form with two handles, bands of archaic decoration in relief, tripod base in form of three elephant heads, later finely carved hardwood lid probably Huanghuali, 18-1/4 in.. Condition: bronze with rich patination and areas of [verdigris], casting flaw crack across one elephant trunk (see detailed photos,) the hardwood lid with minor cracks and warping.
