(South Carolina/Massachusetts, 1876-1973) Satyr Entangling Goat, 1950, possibly unique, signed on base "Anna Hyatt Huntington/Stanerigg 1950", aluminum, 37-5/8 in.,. Condition: abrasions. Notes: In 1939, the Huntingtons moved to a large farm in Redding, Connecticut. Aluminum had gained momentum with the modernists and while Anna Hyatt Huntington disparaged the movement, she adapted this medium for its versatility. She was one of the first to utilize the medium achieving works with fine detail.
