19th century, dramatic scalloped rim, ring foot, repouss‚ forest scene, later inscription on base "Chicago Golf club/Foursome Cup/Presented/By/C P Johnston/1896", unmarked, possibly Kutch or Lucknow, 37.96 oz. T., 6-1/2 x 12-1/4 in.
Note: Chicago Golf Club was established in 1892 and one of the five founding clubs of the US Golf Association. It's also the oldest 18-hole golf course in America. The club is limited to a very elite 120 members.
