Note: Brunk Auctions would like to thank Dr. Fred Meijer for confirming the authenticity of this painting as an early work by Carstian Luyckx.
He states that this painting "is a relatively early cartouche still life by Carstian Luyckx, probably from the early 1650s, still much in the manner of Daniel Seghers. Luyckx's first name is clearly legible on the painting. There is a rather similar cartouche still life dated 1650 in Warsaw: https://rkd.nl/imageslite/521791, and this one is also quite similar: https://rkd.nl/imageslite/521818, and there is also this signed early flower vase, also in Warsaw."
