Portrait of a Gentleman, said to be jurist, Paul Dudley (Massachusetts, 1675-1751), oil on canvas, 30 x 24-3/4 in.; carved and gilt wood oval frame, 37-1/4 x 33 in.
Note:This portrait is said to be by a little known artist, The Portsmouth Limner and of Paul Dudley who would become The Attorney General of the province of Massachusetts Bay. A portrait of Paul Dudley is held by the Boston Athenaeum and appears to represent the more youthful jurist.
