North Shore, Massachusetts, 18th century, molded cornice over four long drawers, lower case with fan carved central drawer, cabriole legs and pad feet, dense figured mahogany throughout, white pine secondary, maple case sides, probably original drawer pulls, illegible chalk inscription on back "Lieutentant....?", 70 x 40 x 20-1/2 in. - Provenance: E. good overall, probably original brasses, no ankle or leg breaks found, lacking drops at skirt and with minor patches to skirt, typical shrinkage cracks to case sides, some finish losses and wear, cracks and minor repairs to cornice molding
