lid with brass plaque "James Adair Patented Oct. 2nd 1866/Reissued Aug. 4th, 1868/B. & P. Lawrence Proprietors", oak throughout, hinged lid with leather writing surface opening to divided interior, on trestle form base, lidded inkwell set, back with metal plate "55E", mother of pearl button at front appears to be a buzzer mechanism, 33-1/2 x 23 x 21-1/4 in.
