probably Alexandria, Virginia area, circa 1815-1820, mahogany and cherry, poplar and other mixed secondary woods, reeded legs and arm supports, brass-capped feet at front, modern yellow upholstery, 37 x 70 x 27 in. scattered veneer chips and repairs especially at front skirt, center front legs each with cracks and repairs, each with notched repair at back, some later pinning at outer front legs, arm tops with some tacking scars, other surface wear and abrasions, modern upholstery in generally good condition, not examined under upholstery
