Lift-Top Chest
attributed to Virginia, late 18th/early 19th century, heavy yellow pine construction throughout, original painted surface in shades of red, white, blue and ocher, lidded till, original wrought iron hinges and lock, underside of lid with illegible inscriptions, 30-1/2 x 50-1/2 x 22-1/4 in.. Condition: generally good condition, brasses probably replaced (no plugged holes), front feet with original diagonal bracing, largely original feet with some restorations (one replaced knee return, one rear facing replaced, some later black spray paint), typical surface wear and paint losses.
