coastal Massachusetts, late 18th century, figured single board mahogany top with serpentine front over four graduated conforming drawers, set on boldly formed ball and claw feet with central skirt drop, dovetailed construction with white pine secondary, at top 33 x 39-3/4 x 22 in. - Provenance: Property from a duPont Family Estate, Charlottesville, Virginia
generally good condition, brasses replaced, original feet with some restored returns, formerly fitted with casters (now removed), minor loss at one lower side molding, some minor sun fading and color variation, minor cracks at case sides, other checking, surface wear, and finish flaws, loss at tip of one spur
