probably Pennsylvania, late 18th century, arched and painted dial with floral spandrels, seconds and date hands, set in figured and waisted case with carved rosettes, inset fluted quarter columns, paneled base, original ogee bracket feet, period pendulum, winder, and two weights, eight day brass movement, 95 x 20-1/2 x 10-1/2 in.
Provenance: Private Collection, Chapel Hill, North Carolinadate hand replaced, losses and wear to dial paint, extensive crude repaint to moon phase, probably original finials, case with very good integrity, original feet, shrinkage crack at base panel, rosettes possibly original with some minor repairs, case uprights trimmed and now set with later risers, works and case likely a good match, scattered minor finish spotting
