(German, 1471-1528) The Circumcision, from the Life of the Virgin, 1505, after the Latin edition of 1511, a later impression, signed in block lower right with monogram "AD" collector's stamp recto "FM" (L.1034), wood cut on laid paper, no apparent watermark, 11-3/4 x 8-3/8 in. (sheet); parcel gilt wood frame, hinged at top, trimmed to plate, two printing creases at top and lacking ink. Provenance: Ex-collection Martin Folkes (1690-1754), the collection was sold January 15, 1756
