Note: Albert Gyngell Sr. was a British landscape, portrait, and figure painter primarily active between 1873 and 1892. Based in Worcestershire, he exhibited six works at the Royal Academy and others at the Royal Society of Artists in Birmingham and various institutions. Known for scenes of North Wales and the River Severn, his work is held in the Worcester City museums. He lived in several locations including Worcester and Ditchling, Sussex, and his exact date of death remains unknown. He was the father of Albert E. Gyngell (1886–1949), also an artist, though often confused with his father in historical records. Albert E. trained at the Royal Academy but moved to South Africa for health reasons, later becoming the first Curator of the Johannesburg Art Gallery. He also lectured and completed notable charcoal portraits. His daughter, Elizabeth Margaret Price, continued the family's legacy through her advocacy in the engineering profession in South Africa.
