(British, b. 1930), raised on four small feet, blue and black glazes with white slip foliate design, signed with artist's cipher on reverse, circa 1981, 1-1/4 x 12-3/4 in.,. Notes: Alan Caiger-Smith is a studio potter and writer on pottery. His books on the history of tin-glaze pottery are well-known. He was Chairman of the British Crafts Centre from 1973 to 1978 and was awarded the MBE in 1988.. Sales Tax: If you live in North Carolina and/or pick up from the auction house, and do not have a valid resale tax number on file with us, you MUST pay North Carolina state sales tax. The NC Sales Tax will not apply to any items being shipped out of state (unless the client resides in North Carolina) or to those clients with a resale tax number.
