Three quarter portrait of James Craggs in a wig and blue velvet coat, inscribed lower left "Rt. Honble Ja Craggs/Esqr: Sec: of State/ to. K. Geo:1st", after the one held by National Portrait Gallery, London and executed in 1708, bearing signature lower right "G. Kneller", oil on canvas, 40 x 49 in.; 18th century Lely type carved and gilt wood frame. Notes: A mezzotint of this portrait was made by John Simon in 1720. This painting may be a copy of the 18th century based on the original. Provenance: Private Collection, Wilson, North Carolina
