King David Playing the Harp with Putti Dancing and St. Cecilia Playing the Organ, unsigned, 17th century or style, oil on copper panel is stamped with the maker's mark of Peeter Stas, dating the support to circa 1605, 13-1/2 x 10-3/4 in.; carved, painted, and parcel gilt wood frame, 21-5/8 x 18-7/8 x 2 in.

Note: This painting bears the punch mark by the earliest and most frequently recorded seventeenth century producer of copper plates for painters, Peeter Stas (c.1565-after 1616) who stamped his work in a compromise reached after the conflict and the application of new guild regulations in Antwerp. Purchased items will be available for pick up or shipping from our Asheville, North Carolina auction facility within ten business days of the auction will be assessed a storage fee of $5.00 per day, per item. Purchaser agrees that packing and shipping is done at the purchaser's risk and that the purchaser will pay in advance all packing expenses, materials, carrier fees and insurance charges. At our discretion, items will either be packed by an agent such as a packaging store or Brunk Auctions. Please allow two weeks for shipping after payment is received.
