Possibly an early copy by his grandson, Charles-Antoine Coypel (French, 1694-1752), oil on canvas, 40-1/2 x 32-1/2 in.; gilt wood and composition liner, 45-1/4 x 37-1/8 x 1-3/4 in.

Provenance: George Folsom, Charge d'Affairs under Zachary Taylor to the Netherlands from 1850-1853; married Margaret Winthrop in 1837, she the daughter of Benjamin Winthrop of Boston and Judith Stuyvesant. They did the grand tour through Europe from 1853-1857; To their son George Folsom who married Frances Fuller in 1867; To their daughter Helen Stuyvesant Folsom who married Churchill Satterlee, son of Henry Yates Satterlee, First Bishop and builder of Washington National Cathedral; To their daughter Etheldred Satterlee who married Norman L. Macy; By descent in family

Purchased items will be available for pick up or shipping from our Asheville, North Carolina auction facility within ten business days of the auction, or will be assessed a storage fee of $5.00 per day, per item.
