Note:Depicting gigantic floating plants with romanticized landscapes and entwined with banners identifying the plant, Abraham Munting published his [Waare Oeffening der Planten] in Amsterdam in 1672 with 40 engraved plates. In 1696 a posthumous edition, [Naauwkeurige Beschryving der Aardgewassn], with 245 plates, was published in Leyden by Francois Halma. A third edition was also published titled [Phytographia Curiosa exhibens arborum, fructium, herbarum & florum Icones] with text in Latin.
The plates include Nummularia Americana, Britannica Antiquorum Vera, Sideritis Spicata Foetida and Leontopetalon Capitatum Americanum.
