Massachusetts, 1806, brass 8-day movement with seconds dial, dial inscribed "WARRANTED FOR MR. JOSHUA SEAVER / 1806 / Aaron Willard / Boston", allegorical painting possibly by John Ritto Penniman, the interior of waist door retaining its original instructions printed by Paul Revere Jr. (1734-1818), dated inscriptions ranging from 1813-1899, case and bonnet with brass stop fluted columns, inlay and flame birch(?) panels, French feet, two weights and pendulum included, 95-1/2 x 19 x 9 in.

per Sotheby's condition report from the 2023 auction, "In overall very fine condition. The painted dial in overall good condition, with two small flaked areas of loss. Lacking one of the applied brasses in the stop fluting on the proper right side of the case. Secondary woods are white pine and Atlantic white cedar. The interior of the waist door is signed with dates of service from the 19th century and retains original instructions printed by Paul Revere. Minor shrinkage cracks to the front of the bonnet. Retaining its original weights and pendulum. There are original pieces of wood saved from the saddleboard"
additionally we note that the fretwork and finials appear replaced, one applied brass to stop fluting replaced, dial paint with craquelure, otherwise in a fine state of preservation with typical wear including apparent repair to break at top of bonnet
