Paris, 18th century, movement signed "JB Duchesne", ebonised, lacquer bombé form wooden case, enriched with figured putti, scallop, acanthus, and other meander, gilt bronze bolection, removable bell cover at top, terminating at gilt figural trumpeter angel holding a palm frond, gilt dial frame with leafy scrolling, musical instruments, and phoenix repoussé among porcelain plaque numerals, over pendulum aperture, ending in scrolled feet, 35-1/2 x 16 x 7-1/4 in.; with matching corbel bracket, corner mounted with gilt bronze mask appliques, with original iron wall mounts and rose head nails, 15 x 17 x 9 in.

movement not tested but clock was running at initial inspection, dented at pendulum weight, case in overall very good condition, with gilt loss throughout, paint splatter at finial, typical shrinkage cracks to veneer, latch at door closure disconnected (present); bracket with veneer restoration, missing one gilt nail at mount
