Meiji period, large rectangular case with black lacquer and brass mounted doors, sheer fabric lined reticulated interior doors opening to open interior with six lower drawers, surmounted by numerous tiered shelves with column supports and decoration, upper section with elaborate carved and gilt decoration of peacocks, immortals, and swirling clouds, brass mounts with floral, crane, and dharmachakra wheel motifs, 73-1/2 x 46 x 30 in.

scattered bumps and abrasions, numerous chips and edge losses throughout, losses to lacquered surfaces, surface dirt and accretion, some brass elements with spotting and discoloration, scattered cracks, scattered tears and losses to fabric lining, slight warping to outer doors, one door lacking edge panel (off but retained), outer door panels with numerous large cracks and separations, some chips and losses to carved figural elements at interior, lacking two brass appliques at top edge, chip and loss to top shelf at interior, one foliate carved element off but present
