Newport, Rhode Island, 18th century, tall with boldly scalloped and shell carved skirt, cabriole legs and pad feet, figured mahogany with chestnut and poplar secondary, bottom board of upper case has holes suggesting it once had feet, 71 x 39-1/2 x 22 in.

Condition

top boards and moldings are replaced (probably originally a bonnet top), brasses are replaced, two corner chips to one drawer facing, surface wear and minor sun fading, lower case in good condition with original shell carving and no leg repairs found (screw attachments through case sides for legs, likely as made)
