nineteen line letter from the Minister of War, Henri Clarke, Duc de Feltre (1765-1818), mentioning the Marechal de Conegliand (Bon Adrien Jeannot de Moncey), signed at bottom, "Duc de Feltre", and dated ["le 23 Mar, 1810"], brown ink on laid paper, 12-1/2 x 8-1/4 in.

Note: When Henri Clarke helped to thwart the British invasion of the Netherlands in the Walcheren Campaign of 1809, the emperor created a title for him,"Duke of Feltre". Napoleon was dependent on his authority which rapidly expanded as he helped organize the administration and establishment of the [Grande Armée] beginning in 1811.Condition

Sales Tax: If you live in North Carolina and/or pick up from the auction house, and do not have a valid resale tax number on file with us, you MUST pay North Carolina state sales tax. The NC Sales Tax will not apply to any items being shipped out of state (unless the client resides in North Carolina) or to those clients with a resale tax number.
