Germany, 19th century, of oval form with domed cover, sculptural rose finial and scrolled handles, polychrome painted with flowers and insects, cover with forget-me-not chain border, small painted bugs inside tureen mask firing anomalies, underglaze blue KPM scepter mark, 9-1/4 x 12-1/2 in., repairs to rose-and-leaves finial, chip on rim near one handle, some chips on rose petals, cover does not fit snuggly, part of flange may be repaired (may not be KPM) .
