probably Continental or English, top central cartouche with initials "CSW" dated "1762", over bands of various figural motifs including royal couple, stags, double headed crowned eagle, parrots, and leopards, lower portion with grapevine potted urn with initials, "W" over "CS" over alphabet, numbers and embroidered designs, silk on linen, molded gilt frame, later plastic backing with label "Frame Makers of Annapolis", 44 x 12-1/4 in.
