16 star variety, Overton-102, late die state - Note: This issue has long been considered a "stopper" to anyone ambitious enough to attempt a full type set of U.S. coinage. The example being offered today has been recorded as serial number 237 in the late Jon Amato's published work on these small eagle halves.˜˜ - Provenance: Stack's, February 4-6, 1976, "Tennessee Collection", Lot 977, realized $4,500; A Virginia Collector
